Students of Afia Kobi Ampem Girls’ Senior High School in the Ashanti Region have made headlines once again with their amazing creativity and innovation. The school’s Engineering Department, led by Engineer Ferdinand Sam, has designed and developed an unmanned aerial combat space plane called the GAF Josephine for the Ghana Air Force.

But their creativity didn’t stop there. The students have also built a prototype of a surveillance drone. They shared that the drone is being developed to help deliver food, medical supplies, and weapons during missions. Though the drone is still in the testing stage and doesn’t fly yet, the team is working hard to improve it until it performs its intended functions.

This achievement has proven that young Ghanaian students, especially girls, have the ability to contribute to science, technology, and national development. With continued support and encouragement, their innovations could go a long way in changing the future of aerospace engineering in Ghana.
