According to reports, Suicide was found hanging in a bathroom with a sponge. Witnesses say he had recently discovered that his girlfriend was cheating on him. The emotional pain was too much for him to handle. The incident happened yesterday, April 16, 2025. This sad incident happened just as the university began its end-of-semester exams.
Friends and students on campus were shocked by the news. Many say Convoid was a quiet person who kept to himself. Unfortunately, no one knew how badly he was hurting inside.

This is not the first time a love-related issue has gone viral in Ghanaian universities. Earlier this year, a video of a student named Henry from KNUST trended on social media. In the video, Henry was seen emotionally begging his girlfriend not to leave him after she told him she had found someone else. Henry had allegedly spent a lot of money on her – including buying her a Valentine’s Day gift worth about 5000 Ghana cedis, paying for Uber rides, and even buying her a mobile phone. Instead of support, many students mocked Henry online, calling him names and laughing at his pain.
These situations show how deeply relationships can affect the mental health of young people. Unfortunately, not everyone has the strength or support to deal with heartbreak in a healthy way.
Universities and student bodies are now being urged to take mental health more seriously. Counseling services and emotional support must be made more available so that students can talk to someone when they are feeling overwhelmed.
Let this be a reminder to everyone: if you’re going through something painful, speak to a friend, family member, or counselor. You are not alone, and your life is worth more than any heartbreak.
If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, don’t keep it inside. Please seek help. Talk to someone. Your life matters.
